Niiiice

And you made this a while ago? Wow, that's pretty impressive. If I submitted some of the things I made when I was 13, I'd probably have to do it under another name because they're so terrible hahah...

It kinda sounds more Ambient to me than Video Game, but I can totally see this being in a game so... either way works really :)

Anyway, great job!

HUNRobar responds:

Thank you very much! :) It had its price at that time as I worked on this for about 2 weeks . ;) But unfortunately I haven't dealt with Reason after it for a long time so I'm not much better now. :P

Cool!

This was pretty sweet. I loved the flow that came with the bass every time it came in, it was pretty smooth.

If I have to say one bad thing it's that this actually got too repetitive for me. I know, I know... any sort of electronica is repetitive, but it just got too much for me. I guess it did get stuck in my head, so maybe that's what you were going for, I don't know.

But good job overall!

omgtehmuffinman responds:

I had hoped for the small changes in undertones and melody to compensate for how repetitive it can get, but in the end the changes had been to sometimes notice...

Thank you so much for the review though! I always appreciate it!

Excellent Author Comment

Wow. Even in such a minimal song, there is so much badassery it kind of stuns me. Fuck you, man. Fuck you and your ability to make music that's fucking 2 minutes long and speaks to people in ways that goddamn concertos do.

Oh, and your Author Comment is fucking incredible.

I...
I might love you.

In a totally musical way.

(Okay, in retrospect, I guess musical love is actually gayer than normal love... so Just take it the way you want)

culmor30 responds:

._.

Well. I'm totally cool with you being gay for me, which is awesome, but lol, I made this song in like half an hour. There is no emotion in it. Many of my tracks may appear to be inspired by life-changing events, but in fact are created while I slouch at my desk after I get home from school. This is void of emotion, as am I.

(Okay, in retrospect, I guess that actually sounded emotional. yeah whatever)

Sweet! I likes!

I like this! It's waaaay cool, totally boss music.

Just one thing: Around 1:16, and again at 2:14 when the choir comes out, I think it gets just a bit too loud. It clips my speakers, and they're not even turned up that loud.

But other than that, this is definately awesomeness, hit me up when you've got a full version on here :)

Gec05 responds:

Yeah, I exported this file before I fixed the clipping. It's a horrible file, I know. But once I get around to finishing it the clipping will be gone.

Reviews ARE nice!

I like this very much. Completely understand the whole "Make music reflecting how I feel".

I love how it loops seamlessly, it makes for nice background, I was just eatin' lunch and checkin' out songs, and when I got to this one, I didn't ever realize it had looped because... It was cool so I didn't care!

Don't really have any way to improve it or anything, I think it's perfect the way it is and conveys what it intends to perfectly.

culmor30 responds:

Awesome, glad you liked it. Right now, I'm unfortunately feeling like the second half of this loop (like shit). But it always gets better :[

2 Decent Seperate Songs

Is this a mashup of 2 different songs or what?

After ALL THAT BUILD, it dies off at 0:42 and goes... directly into another song?! I'm confused.

If you want a suggestion, I would try to make the 2 parts fit together better without a massive build that leads nowhere. If you're going to have this huge build up, then I want a lead that at least fits with the part previous.

Also... random but I think adding tremolo (Gapper) to the lead, or even the bass at 0:44 would make it sound cool.

BUT, overall it does sound pretty good

Doox4 responds:

Ty, Like i said, I hit a dead end and just put in anything.

Perfect Name, Great Song

The name explains exactly how the song is around 0:38, very glitchy and awesome. I am very impressed by this, totally a download for me because this is really pretty awesome.

If you were ever to go back and keep working on this, I would suggest you do some channel panning, left to right stuff... Maybe even try bouncing the echoes and glitched part around surround channels (Bounce from Rear-Left to Front-Right then Rear-Right to Front-Left then back). I think that would be awesome. Not that it isn't already.

Also, what drumkit are you using there? It's dayum sexy :P

vanguard182 responds:

good ideas, i'm still playing around with it and seeing if i can maybe get some different sounds out of it, i'll definitely look into the panning. i'm glad it impressed you though. btw, the kit i'm using is addictive drums, you can download a sample for free and it comes with about 3 differents kits that consist of a kick, hat, snare, and crash. good luck :-)

Very Awesome

This is very cool dude. I feel your pain with not knowing what VST was. This was the way a bunch of my songs were when I first started making stuff too. Bud that doesn't mean it's any less awesome. For some reason I can listen to this over and over and it doesn't wear on me, which is unusual... and a plus.

You should think about going back to some of your old songs with what you know now and giving them a little bit of a tune-up. I bet you could get some pretty sexy things out of it :)

lte responds:

Thanks, much appreciated! I still have to finish uploading the rest of my songs, and I have a couple half-finished tracks I want to get squared away. But maybe after that...

Maybe...

I think you should work on getting it to fit together. Because the horns to me don't fit in with the beat.

I don't know, it's really up to you whether or not to continue.

Blasphem-E responds:

Ya, I guess I should see why they may not sound great together. Thanks for the thoughts

Pretty Cool

Was pretty attention grabbing there with the speedy rolling, this was pretty sweet. I kinda wish it had like... something I could follow along because it's all kinda really random sounding to me lol...

Anyway, just wondering, what drum emu/vst do you use?

Lazy-Dan35 responds:

Yeah Progressive is usually pretty random.
I used Reason software sampler (Built into Reason 4) with a Midi Keyboard to get the drum beats.

I like make the sound go "bwaaaww"
