Cool, except...

This whole thing was very sexy, EXCEPT I think you should use a different lead. It sounds like you're using "Super Sync Lead" from Native Instruments' Pro-53. If this is true, you should try changing the program to "Mega Dance", it sounds much better. You could change the LFO as well so that it does the same kind of 'wah' sound as this lead.

However, if you're not using Pro-53, then I would suggest just using a lead that doesnt make me want to stab out my eardrums plz!

Other than that, I really really did like it but because the lead is such a big part and I disagree with it, it kind of ruins the song for me.

Nice but fkn trippin

Seriously glad to see someone else doing something with Acid. And I'm not gonna lie... this sounds like.... maybe... you were on something that wasn't just caffeine. Like... you were on LSD. Or something akin to LSD and just taped what was in your head. Because this is absolute chaos. You should chop this thing up and make it all... breakbeat-like, that would be sweeeeeet.

2 Decent Seperate Songs

Is this a mashup of 2 different songs or what?

After ALL THAT BUILD, it dies off at 0:42 and goes... directly into another song?! I'm confused.

If you want a suggestion, I would try to make the 2 parts fit together better without a massive build that leads nowhere. If you're going to have this huge build up, then I want a lead that at least fits with the part previous.

Also... random but I think adding tremolo (Gapper) to the lead, or even the bass at 0:44 would make it sound cool.

BUT, overall it does sound pretty good

Ty, Like i said, I hit a dead end and just put in anything.

Perfect Name, Great Song

The name explains exactly how the song is around 0:38, very glitchy and awesome. I am very impressed by this, totally a download for me because this is really pretty awesome.

If you were ever to go back and keep working on this, I would suggest you do some channel panning, left to right stuff... Maybe even try bouncing the echoes and glitched part around surround channels (Bounce from Rear-Left to Front-Right then Rear-Right to Front-Left then back). I think that would be awesome. Not that it isn't already.

Also, what drumkit are you using there? It's dayum sexy :P

vanguard182 responds:

good ideas, i'm still playing around with it and seeing if i can maybe get some different sounds out of it, i'll definitely look into the panning. i'm glad it impressed you though. btw, the kit i'm using is addictive drums, you can download a sample for free and it comes with about 3 differents kits that consist of a kick, hat, snare, and crash. good luck :-)

Very Awesome

This is very cool dude. I feel your pain with not knowing what VST was. This was the way a bunch of my songs were when I first started making stuff too. Bud that doesn't mean it's any less awesome. For some reason I can listen to this over and over and it doesn't wear on me, which is unusual... and a plus.

You should think about going back to some of your old songs with what you know now and giving them a little bit of a tune-up. I bet you could get some pretty sexy things out of it :)

lte responds:

Thanks, much appreciated! I still have to finish uploading the rest of my songs, and I have a couple half-finished tracks I want to get squared away. But maybe after that...

Maybe...

I think you should work on getting it to fit together. Because the horns to me don't fit in with the beat.

I don't know, it's really up to you whether or not to continue.

Blasphem-E responds:

Ya, I guess I should see why they may not sound great together. Thanks for the thoughts

Roflol! Awesomeness

I love how it just kinda... stops.
You know what you should do? You should have like pan from one side to the other like it's a turntable battle. Like have one go left, then the other go right, then left again... kinda like that.

But just a random thought, still think its cool.

Pretty Cool

Was pretty attention grabbing there with the speedy rolling, this was pretty sweet. I kinda wish it had like... something I could follow along because it's all kinda really random sounding to me lol...

Anyway, just wondering, what drum emu/vst do you use?

Lazy-Dan35 responds:

Yeah Progressive is usually pretty random.
I used Reason software sampler (Built into Reason 4) with a Midi Keyboard to get the drum beats.

Beautiful

That, my friend, was one of the most inspirational and incredible piece's I've heard in a very long time. Basically everything about it was perfect to my ear, and usually I have at least one critical thing to say about a piece of music. This, however, makes my all-time list of awesomeness. Definitely downloading this to save for future use.

I just hope that one day my own mood will brighten up like yours did because this sounds like it's so full of hope for the future it actually makes me not want to kill myself and everyone around me :D (That last part as a joke, I'm not actually going to kill myself and everyone around me. Just everyone around me :P)

reel2 responds:

Thank you, I love long and good reviews like these. They mean alot to me and helps me carry on making music and stuff. Thanks alot!

Cool thus far

From whats there, I enjoyed it. Except when the other synth-y lead thing comes in at 0:38, I would make sure that is slightly quieter so that the piano isn't being overpowered.

Other things you could do at this point are
A) Add a more progressive/involved drumloop then build from there
B) Add a second piano part and turn this solo into a duet. Piano duets usually sound very cool, but there needs to be a way of distinguishing between one piano and the other in order for it to not end up becoming confusing.
C) Expand on the synth lead. Have it sync with the piano part, then have it go off and do its own thing.

Just some suggestions, I don't know. I'm really tired. So if this doesn't exactly make sense, that's why. If it doesn't... sorry! XD

I like make the sound go "bwaaaww"
